Back by popular demand! Peta will be with us for Saturday and Sunday for a very special two day seminar. Choice and control have become two buzz words in the world of ethical and effective dog training. But what do we do when respecting our dog’s requests creates “demanding” behaviour?

About the event

Have you got a Smelly Askhole in your house? This will be our fourth year of welcoming Peta to Mount Murray Farm, home of Canine Ed, tucked away in the beautiful Southern Highlands near Robertson. The Askhole Inc. Crew has formed out of a great group of trainers who have embraced the principles of force free learning, and where we often joke we have created 'Askholes'. The Smelly Askhole Weekend in August will be addressing the Smellier side of life with Askholes and will focus on Nose Work Skills in Trialling. Over the two day workshop, Peta will select from a range of general topics listed below: * Handling skills and building teamwork * How handler movement influences the dog, * How to navigate a search area, * How and when to provide direction to your dog. * Planning your training to achieve success at higher levels * How to set hides to further your training goals, * How to isolate components to build your dog’s understanding of odour, * How to successfully train multiple hides, elevated hides and inaccessible hides. Additionally, the workshop will offer sessions on each element including topics selected from the following, which will be specific to the element under discussion, eg: • the requirements for each element as you progress from Novice, • setting-up training scenarios, • developing the key dog and handler skills specific for each element.
