ABOUT KEVIN Hi all - Kevin here from TagTeam Agility!
I am judging at the NSW State Titles and am very excited to have the opportunity to put on a seminar for you afterward as well.
So a little bit about me …
It all started in the late ‘90s accompanying my wife Bronwen and our pet Dalmatian “Topaz” to shows. Then like it does for many people, I caught the "agility bug”, got my own dog to run, and 15 dogs later … the rest - as they say - is history!
I love training, competing, instructing and judging - all things agility. I am always seeking to develop and improve myself and am lucky enough to train with some of the best NZ and international handlers/instructors available. This has given me great exposure and experience as to a variety of methods and “what works”.
I have been in this sport for around 25 years now, and every dog of ours has had its own unique challenges. I am very aware that a “one size fits all” approach doesn’t apply when it comes to dog (and handler) training. Although the basics are the same, we need to work with the dog in front of us to bring out the best in them. For me it’s all about the fun to be had for both dog and handler – otherwise what’s the point - right?
Highlights for me have been making up several Champions and Grand Champions; representing NZ at two World Agility Championships (with borrowed dogs) in the UK & USA; taking my own dog to the Australian Nationals in 2018; and competing and/or judging over 20 NZ Agility Nationals since I started. I really thrive on the pressure and excitement of these events.
I have a lot of fun instructing, and looking forward to meeting you all!
Be ready for me to push you out of your comfort zones. I will encourage you to try different options so be sure to bring your running shoes!
